I’m Matisse — a singer and songwriter born in New Zealand and raised on the wild west coast of Muriwai. Growing up surrounded by rugged beaches and powerful ocean energy, I developed a deep love for music from an early age. It quickly became more than just a passion — it became my path.

That passion took me across the world to London, where I studied at the London School of Music and graduated with honours. My time there shaped me not only as a vocalist, but as a writer and creative collaborator. I’ve always loved writing my own lyrics — storytelling through music is at the heart of who I am — and I’ve been fortunate to provide vocals and lyrics for some of the biggest Drum and Bass DJs in the world.

I’ve spent the past five years living and creating in London, immersed in its vibrant music scene. Now, I’m back home in New Zealand, inspired and ready to create more magic — bringing everything I’ve learned back to where it all began.
